ABUJA — September 10, 2026 — Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has stressed the importance of agricultural mechanisation in transforming the nation’s agricultural sector, saying it is critical to empowering women, attracting young people into farming and strengthening Nigeria’s food security. Oluremi Tinubu said modern farming methods and access to mechanised equipment would help reduce the physical burden associated with agriculture while improving productivity and making farming more attractive to the younger generation. According to her, women play a significant role in Nigeria’s agricultural value chain and should be supported with the tools, technology, financing and training required to expand their contributions to food production and economic development. Osun Election: Governor Adeleke Votes at Polling Unit in His Hometown, Ede

Osun State Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has cast his vote in the ongoing Osun State governorship election at his polling unit in Ede, his hometown.
Adeleke arrived at Polling Unit 009, Ward 02, Sagba/Abogunde, Ede North Local Government Area, at about 8:30 a.m. and was accredited before proceeding to cast his ballot.
The governor was accompanied by supporters as voters also turned out early across Ede and other parts of the state to participate in the election.
Speaking shortly after voting, Adeleke expressed confidence in his chances of winning the election and urged voters to remain peaceful and protect their ballots throughout the voting and collation processes.
The 2026 Osun governorship election is being conducted across the state’s 30 local government areas by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Adeleke also raised concerns over alleged attempts to disrupt voting in some areas and called on security agencies to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process.
