KHARTOUM, Sudan — August 31, 2026: Nigeria’s newly appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Sudan, Yakubu Nyaku Danladi, has formally presented his letters of credence to the President of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, General Abdalfattah Al-Burhan Abdalrahman, marking the beginning of his diplomatic assignment in the country. The ceremony was held at the Republican Palace in Khartoum and was followed by bilateral discussions between Ambassador Danladi and the Sudanese leader. ABUJA — August 19, 2026 Presidential candidates and national chairmen of major political parties have signed the first 2027 National Peace Accord, pledging to pursue their political ambitions peacefully and protect Nigeria’s democratic stability ahead of the 2027 general elections. The agreement was signed on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre in Abuja during a ceremony organised by the National Peace Committee, chaired by former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.).
