Akpabio’s warning comes as political activities intensify ahead of the elections, with concerns growing over inflammatory statements and incidents capable of heightening tensions. The Senate President urged political actors to conduct their campaigns responsibly and focus on issues rather than actions that could threaten peace and democratic participation.  His position comes amid broader calls from political and civic actors for peaceful, issue-based campaigns as the 2027 electoral season progresses. BREAKING: Tinubu Ends Working Vacation, Departs Paris for Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ended his working vacation in France and departed Paris for Nigeria, with his aircraft expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos later today.
The State House confirmed on Tuesday that the President had concluded his working vacation and commenced his journey home.
According to the Presidency, Tinubu is returning to Nigeria after spending several weeks in Europe, where he held official engagements, including meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.
The President is expected to arrive in Lagos first, where he will participate in official engagements ahead of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1.
The State House said Tinubu chose to fly into Lagos to honour the memory of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.
The President’s extended stay in Europe had generated public and political debate, particularly following his absence from the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Presidency had maintained that Tinubu remained engaged in governing the country while away and continued to direct official affairs.
Tinubu departed Nigeria on August 30 for London before travelling to Paris, where he continued his working vacation and held a number of official meetings.
His return to Lagos comes as preparations intensify for the October 1 Independence celebrations and other presidential engagements
