Abia Governor Alex Otti Commissions First Nigerian Air Force Administrative Complex in Umuahia

Umuahia, Abia State – Governor Alex Otti has officially commissioned and handed over the first-ever Nigerian Air Force Administrative Complex in Umuahia to the Federal Government, describing the project as a significant milestone in strengthening security across Abia State.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Otti emphasized that security remains a non-negotiable priority for his administration. He noted that the establishment of the Air Force facility complements the existing Nigerian Army formation in Ohafia and the Nigerian Navy presence in Owerinta, creating a more robust and coordinated security architecture across the state.
The governor further disclosed that his administration has allocated land at the ongoing Abia Airport project in Nsulu for the development of a permanent Nigerian Air Force Base. According to him, the move demonstrates the state's long-term commitment to enhancing national security and supporting the operations of the country's armed forces.
Governor Otti expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, and the Chief of the Air Staff for their support in making the project a reality. He added that beyond improving security, the facility is expected to stimulate socio-economic development, create employment opportunities for young people, attract investment, and lay a solid foundation for sustainable growth in Abia State.
