Sam Aboyeji, has urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their faith despite the economic hardship and mounting pressures facing citizens across the country. Aboyeji gave the advice during the first District Convocation and District Anniversary of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Pleasure District, in Lagos. Represented at the event by the Ikeja Axis Coordinator, Rev. Ayomide Abraham, the cleric encouraged Nigerians to continue trusting God for better times while remaining grateful for His provisions.  He acknowledged the economic pressure associated with high petrol prices but urged citizens to also recognise developments in the country, including improvements in infrastructure and access to student loans. ABUJA — August 23, 2026: Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he does not require any official position in the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council to contribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 presidential election.

Wike made the declaration while reaffirming his commitment to supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid, stressing that his political contribution does not depend on receiving a formal campaign appointment.
The FCT Minister maintained that he is prepared to work for the President’s victory regardless of whether he is given a role in the campaign structure.
His comments come amid growing political activities and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political parties and influential stakeholders intensifying consultations and mobilisation.
