Abuja, August 27, 2026
The Nigeria Police Force has invited social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, to provide evidence supporting his allegation that some police officers stationed at checkpoints collude with kidnappers and bandits.
The invitation follows claims made by the activist concerning alleged misconduct and collaboration between some security personnel and criminal elements operating around police checkpoints.
The Police said VeryDarkMan is expected to provide relevant information and evidence that could assist authorities in investigating the allegations and determining their veracity.

The Force is expected to examine any evidence presented and take appropriate action if the allegations are established.
The invitation also underscores the importance of backing serious allegations against security personnel with credible evidence, particularly where such claims could have implications for public confidence in law enforcement agencies.
VeryDarkMan, who has built a large following through his outspoken commentary on social and national issues, has yet to publicly disclose the full details of the evidence he intends to present.
The Police invitation is expected to provide an opportunity for the activist to substantiate his claims and for the authorities to investigate any officers found to have links with criminal networks.
