Sam Aboyeji, has urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their faith despite the economic hardship and mounting pressures facing citizens across the country. Aboyeji gave the advice during the first District Convocation and District Anniversary of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Pleasure District, in Lagos. Represented at the event by the Ikeja Axis Coordinator, Rev. Ayomide Abraham, the cleric encouraged Nigerians to continue trusting God for better times while remaining grateful for His provisions.  He acknowledged the economic pressure associated with high petrol prices but urged citizens to also recognise developments in the country, including improvements in infrastructure and access to student loans. NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT LIFTS MINNA CURFEW EFFECTIVE MONDAY

The Niger State Government has lifted the curfew imposed on Minna, the state capital, following the unrest that erupted after the deaths of 37 suspected artisanal miners in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The curfew takes effect from Monday, September 21, 2026, according to a statement issued by Bologi Ibrahim, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, on Sunday, September 20.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago announced the decision shortly after attending a three-day special prayer session held in honour of the 37 artisanal miners who died while in NSCDC custody.
The curfew had been imposed following protests and unrest in Minna connected to the deaths. Reports indicate that the authorities introduced the restriction as security agencies worked to restore order in the state capital.
In lifting the curfew, Governor Bago appealed to Nigerlites to remain peaceful, law-abiding and responsible, while assuring residents that the state government would continue working to improve their welfare.
The governor also urged residents to support efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability across the state as investigations into the deaths continue.
The deaths of the 37 detainees have triggered investigations by relevant authorities into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
